22 Weeks!

22 Weeks!

Week: 22
Baby: Baby Pease is the size of a papaya...8-10 inches and 1.2 lbs. She is sleeping 12-14 hours a day and is most active in the early evenings.
Stretch Marks: Fingers Crossed- still no stretch marks. And...they say my belly button should pop any day. :)
Maternity Clothes: Yes- was given even more work clothes from Lindsey, a friend from work, which is awesome! We are passing them around at work with all of the pregnant girls :)
Sleep: My mom brought a body pillow when she came this weekend...best thing ever! It has really helped with the sore hips. I have been sleeping well since then!
Movement: Oh yes, she is quite active. Lots of kicks throughout the day and especially at night. Hoping Justin gets to experience them soon!
Yummy: Oatmeal, Apples, Bananas, Pears, Banana Bread, Peanut Butter Sandwiches, Milk, Water, Chips/Dip and Cereal.
Eww!: Meat- Yuck!
Symptoms: Heartburn, sore hips, and really tired feet at the end of the work day.  Justin is awesome about giving me foot rubs after being on my feet all day with the kiddos. Also, getting a little harder to bend over and tie shoes. Uh-oh!
Mood: Excited
High of the week: Justin getting a new job! He will be working as a property manager at Lincoln at Ovaltine in Villa Park for Lincoln Property Co. It was so exciting being able to celebrate and look forward to yet another adventure this year will bring. So proud of him!
Low of the week: Such a great week....honestly, I cannot think of a low!
Most looking forward to: Seeing the baby bedding when it is all done. My mom was here and we finalized the bedding choices this weekend. It is going to be so cute!

21 Weeks!

21 Weeks!

Kennedy giving his baby sister kisses!
Week: 21
Baby: Baby Pease is the size of a banana...which seems smaller than a cantaloupe to me, but I guess they are going on length? Other books say spaghetti squash and a carrot!
Stretch Marks: Still lucky...none yet!
Maternity Clothes: Yes- and I found some great skinny jeans today at Motherhood Maternity! I have been hunting for those to wear with boots, so I was thrilled!
Sleep: Must get a body pillow- my hips are sore!!! Still early to bed, early to rise...
Movement: Quite a bit...should be able to feel hiccups soon and Justin should feel the movement in a few weeks.
Yummy: Pears, Bananas, Cereal, and Peanut Butter.
Eww!: Meat
Symptoms: Heartburn, sore hips, and a ever growing belly :)
Mood: Happy and a little nervous thinking about how soon she will actually be here!
High of the week: The Baby shower dates being finalized and the planning beginning. We are so lucky to have family and friends who want to do so much for us. We are very much looking forward to our Neenah Family Shower and our Chicago Friends Shower! What a fun weekend that will be...and its only 2 months away :)
Low of the week: Not getting a good night sleep on Friday night thanks to a late night RISK game for boys night in. At least they had a good time...
Most looking forward to: My mom visiting next weekend! We are going to hopefully pick out the baby bedding, show her the crib, visit all the stores that we registered at, show her all the clothes I already bought, and then we will go buy some more! Also, we always eat out...which is awesome because I have not been in the mood for much of what I make at home! Should be a fun weekend :)

20 Weeks!

20 Weeks and It's A Girl!
Week: 20
Baby: Baby Pease is the size of a cantaloupe. Really getting big :)
Stretch Marks: Nope!
Maternity Clothes: Always!
Sleep: I have been sleeping better and not having to get up to use the bathroom as often...which will only last so long, so I am enjoying it while I can!
Movement: Yes! Every single day. It is the most amazing feeling. A few more weeks until Daddy can feel it too!
Yummy: Oatmeal, pears, and milk.
Eww!: Not a whole lot....still not a huge fan of meat.
Symptoms: Heartburn and pretty sleepy this week.
Mood: Just so happy....feeling a strong bond now that we know we have a little girl on the way!
High of the week: Watching Justin's eyes well with tears as he opened the ultrasound envelope that said it was a girl. We had the ultrasound tech write the gender on a piece of paper and place it in an envelope. Then, we went out to dinner and opened it just the two of us while we ate at Mago (delicious Mexican downtown Arlington Heights) and celebrated. It was such an intimate way to find out, versus laying on the table covered in slime with a stranger in the room :) Not that that is a bad way to find out either- but since I had literally decided hours before, we thought this made it a bit more nostalgic. We are both so happy that we will soon be parents to a beautiful baby girl. Now the question is...will she be a blonde or a brunette?
Low of the week: Going back and forth all day Monday worrying about disappointing people if I decided to find out. Bottom line, I am a planner and don't know who I was kidding. Plus- as my awesome husband and awesome Dad reminded me- I have a  right to change my mind :) And I am so glad I did. I love picturing life with this little girl. She already has Justin wrapped around her little finger!
Most looking forward to: Planning the nursery and buying clothes- makes it a lot easier now that we know!

19 Weeks!

19 Weeks...almost half way!

Week: 19
Baby: Baby Pease is the size of a mango and is measuring in at 6.5 inches and over half a pound! Also, the neurons are now connecting between the brain and the muscles, giving the little one more control over his/her movements- which I am finally feeling! Also, the baby is now being covered in vernix- the waxy, nasty, white looking stuff that protects the skin from the amniotic fluid! Some babies are born with some of this- especially if they are early! Only time will tell....
Stretch Marks: Not yet...thanks to my Dad for my organic belly butter lotion :)
Maternity Clothes: Every single day...
Sleep: No new news here...sore hips have subsided for now. Had an awesome dream this week that we had a little girl and she had a head full of dark hair like Justin. No baby boy dreams yet...
Movement: Yes! Quite a bit...feels like muscle twitches. It is so amazing. Can't wait for Justin to feel them, too!
Yummy: Cereal, fruit, and peanut butter....and red peppers! Oh, and the banana bread that is currently in the oven...smothered in peanut butter, of course!
Eww!: Is it bad that I can't think of anything that grossed me out this week? Still not a huge fan of chocolate....but meat has found its way back to my regular appetite.
Symptoms: Heartburn...and a hearty, but healthy, appetite for this growing belly :)
Mood: Just so happy....
High of the week: Feeling the baby really moving around for the first time. Felt like a dance party in my belly all the way to school on Friday (Feb. 3rd). It was amazing!
Low of the week: Little bit of a head cold this weekend.
Most looking forward to: Our appointment next week. The 20 week appointment is where we get a very detailed ultrasound. We can't wait to see how much baby Pease has grown since the 12 week photo! We will post next Monday after our appointment! Until then....
